  • NETS Members and their families: Free.
  • Non- NETs member:
    • Adults: $10
    • Kids: Free
 

Membership Information:

 

  • Our membership runs as calendar year (Jan - Dec). Kindly renew your membership if it is not active.

  • Members who took membership during Children’s Day 2018 ONLY gets the membership discount for year 2018. This means they get the family membership for $20 for year 2019.

Participation Information:

 

Participant’s fees (PAYABLE ONLINE ONLY)

o   Members:     $0 per person

o   Non-members:     $10 per person

All events require registrations prior to the event

 

Registrations are ONLINE only and closes by Monday April 29th, 2019 10:00 PM EST.  Any other forms of registration such as word of mouth, voice message, and email to committee members are invalid.

 If your performance needs music, you should send the music for your program to NETS by Apr 29th, 2019 10:00 PM. It should be sent in the MP3 format or Wav file to the following email address    This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Participation fees for Non-Members(members free) are due by April 29th, 2019 and payable online only.

After April 29th, extra $5 will be charged for each participation for late payment.

 

 **Any cancellations after April 30th are invalid and refunds will not be given.

Program Confirmation - Upon completion of payment online, you will receive PayPal receipt and that should be considered Program Confirmation.

Program Specific Rules

What’ s new?

This year New England Tamil Sangam is proud to introduce a brand-new series of cultural programs to encourage talents and tamil culture in adults and children

Mother’s Day Special: Fashion show: Competition Mrs. Tamilachi New England

  • Can be solo or Mother and Son/Daughter/Grandmother
  • Background Ramp walk music will be played
  • There will be one round only
  • Points will be given for attire, appearance, confidence on stage
  • Only Indian traditional Attire (Participants with any inappropriate outfits will be declined to participate at the discretion of NETS committee on day of event)
  • First place and one runner up will be chosen
  • Judge’s Decision is always final

Tamil Soliloquy: Solo Speech Competition

  • Age group categories
    • Adults
  • Participants will be given the topic 1 hour prior to the start of the competition
  • Participants should talk continuously for 1 minute in Tamil without use of any other language
  • First, Second and Third Prize will be awarded for each age category
  • Judge’s Decision is always final

Authentic Cooking competition

  • Food items must be prepared at home (there is no kitchen access for last minute preparation)
  • You are advised to bring your trays and necessary utensils for presentation and sample tasting to visitors after the judges have made their rounds
  • Participants will be interviewed live during the judging event
  • Points will be awarded for
    • Taste
    • Presentation
    • Creativity
    • Interview talk

Jodi Porutham - Unique Couple Contest New England Jodi Porutham

  • Each participant of the couple will be asked the same 10 questions on stage separately
  • There will be a first prize winner and runner up  
  • The couples with the greatest number of same correct answers will be chosen as a first prize winner followed by runner up  

Tamil Pattimandram – Solo participation

  • Topic:
    அமெரிக்கா வாழ் தமிழ் குடும்பங்களில் வீடுகளில்
    அதிகம் வேலை செய்வது கணவனா!! மனைவியா!!
  • The participants can register on either of the two teams
  • Topics will be announced two weeks prior to the event
  • Participants will be allowed to interact with the team members one week prior to the event
  • Each participant is given 5 min to talk on the topic allotted

Pattuku Pattu - Tamil Movie Songs Singing Competition – Group Participation

  • Program will be conducted by NETS committee member including the score keeper
  • Group should be consisting of minimum 2 and maximum of 3 participants
  • The group should be able to sing when it is their turn within 15 secs, failing which the turn will move on to the next group
  • The participant should be able to sing the first line of the song (everyone has a sweet voice so don’t feel obliged that we should have learnt singing to sing)
  • Age category: Adults and children above 12 years can register

 

Tamil Parambariyam – Dance Drama villupattu etc

  • Groups can register for drama, villupattu or karagam or any other cultural event
  • Timing – 5 minutes per performance for Dance
  • Drama and Villupattu – max of 10 mins
  • Group should be consisting of minimum 2 and maximum of 10 participants
  • Only limited slots - first come fist serve basis

 

Adult Chess Competition

The competition will be held one on one at the venue on the day of the event
